City ElectricityClarksville Department of Electricity, 2021 Wilma Rudolph Blvd., serves customers who live within the city limits.
The minimum deposit is $150 with a nonrefundable connection fee of about $45, depending on the type of meter. The deposit is waived if a credit check shows a good credit standing. Military can also apply for a guaranteed deposit through the Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union. The credit union will then post the guaranteed deposit for the military member. Deposits, plus interest, are credited to the account after three years of satisfactory payment.
In most cases, customers can receive same-day service during the week if moving into a house with existing electric service.

County ElectricityCumberland Electric Membership Corp., 1940 Madison St., is a non-profit organization providing power to a five-county area, including those parts of Montgomery County not served by CDE.

Gas and WaterClarksville Gas and Water Department has its main office at 2215 Madison St. Full-service satellite offices are at 2015 Fort Campbell Blvd. and at One Public Square (in the lobby of U.S. Bank).
A new customer's credit report will determine if a deposit of $50 for water, $75 for water and sewer, and $150 for gas is required for service. There is a $35 connection fee for gas ($50 after 3 p.m.) and a $35 connection fee for water ($50 after 3 p.m.). Connection fees are nonrefundable. Emergency hours service is $50. After 11 p.m., the charge is $75.

In many cases, a deposit is not required, based on the customer's credit history. There is a nonrefundable standard connection fee of $41.50 for Tennessee customers not requiring new wiring. That cost could be higher if lines or jacks must be installed. Allow two to three working days for service to be provided. There are no hook-ups during the weekend.
