Jazz on the Lawn
Free Jazz on the Lawn concerts are scheduled at least once a month on
Saturday evenings during the summer at Beachaven Vineyards and
Winery.
With regional bands like Richard Waters, Les Kerr and the Bayou Band,
The Clarksville Jazz Quintet, and various jazz ensembles, people keep
coming back for more.
The concerts attract thousands of people to the winery's rolling green
lawn, with picnic baskets, blankets and kids in tow. Call 931-645-8867 or go

Oktoberfest has been making a party of the coming of fall in Clarksville for
more than 20 years.
Sponsored by the Clarksville Edelweiss Club at Fairgrounds Park's Wilma
Rudolph Pavilion, this family event draws thousands of people from the region.
Famous for its German food, oompah bands, the chicken dance and beer,
Oktoberfest dishes out more than 4,000 bratwurst, 2,500 schnitzel and keg
after keg of beer every year.

Bikers Who Care, a motorcyclist philanthropy group, hosts a haunted
house that keeps getting bigger every year. The event is usually held on several days leading up to Halloween.

The concert has become so popular that two performances are conducted
with director David Steinquest wearing a new surprise disguise each year.
Admission proceeds are donated to Loaves and Fishes, a local soup kitchen

The festival includes art shows, outdoor concerts, theater,
a parade and food vendors.

Riverfest, an end-of-summer extravaganza usually held in
September, gives Clarksville the chance to show off its best.
The annual celebration along the Cumberland RiverWalk draws
thousands of people to Clarksville.
Musicians and entertainers are the biggest magnets. Fireworks,
food vendors and activities for kids keep the entertainment diverse.

Christmas on the Cumberland provides visitors to McGregor Park, Cumberland
RiverWalk a one-mile stroll along the river through beautiful
Christmas lighting displays of decorated trees, animated scenes
and villages with more than 3 million lights.
The light scenes are
on display the day after Thanksgiving through Dec. 27. Call

Old Time Fiddlers Championship, scheduled the last weekend in
March each year, is sponsored by the Hilldale Civitan Club. The
event draws young and old musicians and features some of the
best fiddling to be found, as well as dance competitions. Go online

Queen City Road Race is an annual 5K run. It consists of a one-mile walk and a one-mile fun run. The race is held in early April and coordinated through
the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department.

Mid-South Jazz Festival is held at Austin Peay State University
in April.
Clarksville’s ‘Movies in the Park’ is held once a month every summer. You can kick back with a blanket or camping chair, enjoy a picnic and catch a great flick. The movies start at dark, pre-show entertainment usually starts around 6:30. In year's past the "Movies in the Park" have been held at the Fairgrounds, but due to construction on the new marina this year they are being held at Heritage Park.
